Welcome to Long Beach Island

Mar 23, 2018

As the sun makes its appearance over Ol’ Barney at the northern tip of Long Beach Island, another day breaks, bringing with it a host of opportunities to enjoy the many leisure activities that exist on this 18-mile-long swath of land surrounded by the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay. From some of the finest ocean beaches to great fishing and boating opportunities to its nightlife, Long Beach Island offers something for everyone.

Long Beach Island plays a key role in Ocean County’s tourism industry. Ocean County continues to account for more than 10 percent of all tourism dollars generated in the state. As an economic engine, tourism injects about $4.7 billion into the local economy and is responsible for the creation of thousands of jobs annually.

Our premier beaches, amusement parks and recreational activities have collectively drawn hundreds of thousands of people to Long Beach Island during the summer season.

And what can they do when they get here? They can visit Historic Viking Village at Barnegat Light, which is the homeport to more than 40 independently owned fishing vessels. They can take sunset cruises on Miss Barnegat Light or explore maritime history and artifacts at the New Jersey Maritime Museum in Beach Haven. In Long Beach Township, a visit to Bayview Park offers lots of summer water sports, and guarded beaches for those who want to swim in calm, shallow waters. For amusement ride lovers, Fantasy Island Amusement Park in Beach Haven is the perfect stop, and if you like miniature golf, there are plenty of fun courses to enjoy. In addition, there is world-class surfing and plenty to do for the kite enthusiasts. With the waterfront as its centerpiece, Long Beach Island offers nothing less than the very best.
