Save the Date! LBI Wedding Road Show Set for April 23

Mar 20, 2017

Take note, brides-to-be: The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce’s ninth annual LBI Wedding Road Show unveils access to the area’s matrimonial best on Sunday, April 23. For nearly a decade, the chamber has worked closely with local wedding professionals to offer this free wedding planning event for those envisioning nuptials on the Jersey Shore.

New this year, the Wedding Road Show will commence with a bridal breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at the Tuckerton Seaport, featuring an engagement ring selfie station.

Registrants are asked to check in between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at one of three designated locations: Holiday Inn in Manahawkin, Tuckerton Seaport or the chamber visitor center in Ship Bottom. Brides and guests will receive a map for the self-guided road show tour “to sample specialties, greet local wedding professionals in beautiful venues and participate in hands-on DIY workshops,” said Lori A. Pepenella, chief executive officer for the chamber.

Venues include The Gables, the Sea Shell Resort and Beach Club, and Parker’s Garage, all in Beach Haven; the Surf City Yacht Club; the Brant Beach Yacht Club; and the Stateroom in Ship Bottom. Participants can stop by the scheduled DIY seminars at the Long Beach Island Historical Association Museum in Beach Haven, see the new Daymark restaurant in Barnegat Light and visit the Ship Bottom Brewery in Beach Haven.

The tour ends at 3:30 p.m., and will be immediately followed by an after-party fashion show and the MakeShift Union’s Made & Matrimony handmade bridal boutique at the LBI Foundation of the Arts and Sciences in Loveladies.

Also this year, newly engaged B98.5 FM radio host Sara Cucci will join her fellow brides at the event. “I remember growing up always seeing the signs for the Road Show and thinking it looks so elegant and so full of character; what a cool event,” noted Cucci, who was raised in Manahawkin and graduated from Southern Regional High School.

“Now I can finally go to it, be a part of it and enjoy this exciting time in my hometown!” she added. Cucci and her fiancé hope to marry over Memorial Day Weekend 2018, but still need to pin down a venue.

Since the inception of the Wedding Road Show, said Pepenella, “the demand for weddings throughout the year have continued to increase, providing local venues and wedding professionals opportunity to expand their services.”

Media sponsors for the 2017 LBI Wedding Road Show include Volatile Media Management, Bay Magazine, NJ Wedding.com, Celebrations Guide, Rock the Aisle Bridal and the N.J. Division of Travel and Tourism.

Registration for brides and their guests is complimentary. Pre-register at visitLBIregion.com.
