Tuckerton Seaport Hunting Shanty
Route 9, Tuckerton, NJ
Aug 02, 2018
6:30 PM

The Southern Ocean Birding Group's guest speaker will be Jennifer Uehling, a Ph.D. student at Cornell University Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Cornell Lab of Ornithology. She will discuss the varied species of shorebirds that use the NJ coastline, as well as her work tracking their movements and migrations with tiny radio transponders.

Understanding bird movement and migration using citizen science and tracking technologies is very important to protecting these species. Come learn about the various ways we can track their movements, from eBird and flag re-sightings to solar-powered radio flags.

The public is welcome. The meeting is free and no reservations are required. Light refreshments will be available.
